Dafni Barbageorgopoulou (born 1977 in Johannesburg, lives and works in Berlin) studied sculpture at the School of Fine Arts in Athens and the Royal College of Art in London.
Laboratory of Art and Formでは、チューリッヒとベルリンをベースに活躍するスイス人のアーティストデュオ!メディアングルッペ・ビトニック(!Mediengruppe Bitnik)の日本で初の作品展を2部構成で開催します。
近年急速な発展を遂げているインターネット、この世界的規模の情報通信網の勢いは止まるところを知らず、いまや私たちの生活には欠かせないものとなっています。しかし、その一方、テロリストのプロパガンダやフェイクニュースなどの有害情報の氾濫、兵器、麻薬、臓器、偽パスポートなどの売買という犯罪まで生み出し、大きな社会問題になっています。
!メディアングルッペ・ビトニックは、政府による監視システムやサイバーセキュリティ、闇ネットショップなど、インターネットに関わる様々な社会問題を主題に現代美術の視点から次々と作品を発表しています。

LOAFでは、彼らの旧作品の映像、Delivery For Mr. Assange (2013)、Random Darknet Shopper (2014 - 2016)、Surveillance Chess (2012)、CCTV–A Trail of Images (2008)、Opera Calling (2007) の上映をいたします。
上映開始時間は、毎時00分と30分の2回です。

Dafni Barbageorgopoulou (born 1977 in Johannesburg, lives and works in Berlin) studied sculpture at the School of Fine Arts in Athens and the Royal College of Art in London.
Juvana Soliven is a sculptor and educator from Honolulu, Hawaii. She completed an MFA in Metalsmithing at Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2016, a BFA in Sculpture at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2013, and also studied Art Restoration and Conservation at Lorenzo de' Medici International School in Florence, Italy in 2012. Soliven is a Lecturer in the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, a Teaching Artist at the Honolulu Museum of Art School, and a Project Manager for the Art in Public Places Program at the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts.

!Mediengruppe Bitnik - Carmen Weisskopf and Domagoj Smoljo - are
Zurich/Berlin based contemporary artists working on and with the internet.
Their practice expands from the digital to affect physical spaces, often
intentionally applying loss of control to challenge established structures
and mechanisms. !Mediengruppe Bitnik's works formulate fundamental
questions concerning contemporary issues.
For the exhibition in LOAF, the artists will explore the realities of the
current digital scene, such as government surveillance and cyber security,
and address the significance of social awareness. Carmen Weisskopf and
Domagoj Smoljo will come to Kyoto to present their new art piece which
will be on display from 11th April 2020 till 9th May 2020.
Prior to that, from 22nd February 2020 till 6th April 2020, LOAF will host
screenings of the artists’ previous works: Random Darknet Shopper (2014 -
2016), Delivery For Mr. Assange (2013), Surveillance Chess (2012), CCTV –
A Trail Of Images (2008), Opera Calling (2007).
On the 11th of April there will be an artist talk with Carmen Weisskopf and
Domagoj Smoljo as well as a former NHK director Kensuke Kishi (Zero
Years After the War: Tokyo Black Hole ) and a professor of the Graduate
School of Global Arts from Tokyo University of the Arts Yoshitaka Mori.
